Santi Apostoli has been in Franciscan hands since 1463 and holds the traditional tombs of the Apostles Philip and James the Less. Its portico, interior, and façade were shaped across centuries by Baccio Pontelli, Carlo Rainaldi, and Carlo Fontana, and finally by Giuseppe Valadier, whose façade was completed in 1827.
