Santa Maria della Quercia

Run by a lay confraternity rather than a parish, Santa Maria della Quercia takes its name and its oak-tree emblem from the Della Rovere family, and an oak is still traditionally kept in the piazza outside. Its pale-yellow, bowed rococo façade is the work of Filippo Raguzzini.

  • A copy of the Madonna della Quercia di Viterbo, the icon whose 1507 veneration by Roman horse-traders gave the church its dedication
